Cote Farms is a family run row crop and cattle operation located in NW Indiana (Morocco, IN). The row crop operation is a over 3000 acres and includes corn, soybeans, hay, wheat & oats. All aspects of field work are completed by Cote Farms employees. This includes spraying, planting, cultivating, & harvest. In addition most all maintenance and repair of equipment is completed in house. In addition to field & maintenance work all trucking is completed by Cote Farms employees. This includes from fields to the on site bins and then to elevators.
The farm houses 100 pure bred Angus breeding cows, 50 head feeders in a direct to client feeding operation. Show heifers, breds and bulls are sold thru private treaty sales in the fall and spring. All aspects of the herd & facility maintenance and care are completed by our employees.
Job Description: Cattle Position

Helping with livestock and their facility maintenance
-
Perform ground maintenance including mowing and basic facility maintenance
-
Maintain accurate records for birthing/ AI work/ etc.

Assistance in fencing repair & building
-
Perform light maintenance and preventative maintenance on implements, trucks, and equipment
-
Perform daily checks of cattle including overall health, pasture quality, feeding & bedding needs

Qualifications
-
Experience in cattle is required
-
Prior experience in cattle, either 4-H, commercial feedlot or breeding operation
-
Valid driver’s license required
-
Experience with tractors & basic equipment, fencing, basic maintenance skills.
-
Proven ability to be proactive in completing work and willingness to learn.
-
Ability to work extended hours and weekends especially during peak season

Self motivated & detail oriented

Job Description: Farm Hand
​
-
Operate field equipment such as tillage, planting, fertilizer applicator, & semi driving
-
Maintain an organized work area and shop with developing practices to improve shop organization
-
helping with livestock facility maintenance on occasion
-
Perform ground maintenance including mowing
-
maintain accurate field records, inventory, & weight tickets
-
Assist with loading grain and maintenance of bins
-
Perform light maintenance and preventive maintenance on implements, trucks and equipment
-
Perform daily checks of fluid levels, tire pressure and overall inspections

Qualifications

Experience in operating heavy equipment and mechanical experience
-
Agriculture, construction or relatable field
-
Valid drivers license required
-
Semi driving experience required, CDL is preferred but not required
-
Proven ability to be proactive in completing tasks & willingness to learn

Ability to work extended hours and weekends during busy seasons
